Marine life here is protected from fishing so flourishes among the hardened lava coastline, much coated in coral below the surface. The almost Gothic looking lava formations give a snorkeling trip here an added dimension of appeal, it’s ridges and pockets is also a home to coral and all kinds of exotic marine life including damsel fish, butterfly fish, parrot fish, tang, wrasse, perch and chub. Marine life thrives close in to the shore in the clear shallow waters and you can snorkel right off the road where there is a cove providing safe access but very limited parking. Go further along to the north from the cove to see turtles - definitely a highlight - and bring your camera - the colors here are incredible.
