It's hard to decide what's most appealing about Fazenda da Lagoa. The virtually deserted white-sand beach, stretching as far as the eye can see? From the moment you're ferried across the private lagoon, past mangroves and monkeys to the tranquil fazenda (farm), you'll be smitten. Renowned Carioca artist Mucki Skowronski and her husband Arthur Bahia have established a wonderfully stylish resort, whose 14 airy cabañas offer swathes of bright colour, outdoor showers and private decks for hammock snoozes. With no neighbours and a maximum of just 28 guests, it's like a private slice of paradise.
