A stiletto hop to Federation Square, this new-generation boutique hotel keeps fashionistas, media types, sports lovers and gastronomes smiling
Boutique Hotel is sooo early Millennium. If you really want style and flavour from your rest stop, come here, to the outskirts of Melbourne’s CBD. Like your favourite jumper reworked in the latest colours, Lindrum is comfortable, intimate and everyone wants to try it. Guests feel part of a unique club: it's been a quintessential Melbourne hotel destination since opening in 1999. Originally a coffee and tea storehouse, the building then housed the Herald and Weekly Times before becoming world-record-holder Walter Lindrum’s Billiard Centre. Homage is paid with the full-sized billiard table in the foyer, conveniently located close to the back bar for mid-game cognacs.
The 59 rooms have polished wood floors, floating short shag carpets, chocolate browns and red hues. It’s warm and friendly, with soft lighting throughout and stylish interiors from Terry Fripp and Neil Bradford. There's sophisticated dining at Felt Restaurant, a chic cocktail bar with open fires, and outstanding service for all those return guests.
