This is another really pretty resort. It's the lake surrounded by mountain peaks that does it in this case. The pedestrianised city centre is a nice touch and it's a nice place for families as well as people looking to have some apres ski fun.

The best skiing is up round the Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kaprun, but this is a resort more suited to beginners and intermediate skiers.

Wonderful place in winter as well as in late spring/summer/early automn. I was there at least 8 times, always a pleasure and good starting point for day trips
