Tiffindel Resort is a great destination for a really unique South African experience. It sits on the highest mountain in the Eastern Cape (Ben Mcdhui) and is currently undergoing a massive expansion of its facilities. The main slope is around 600m and this is being further enhanced and there are plans to build several other runs as well as an ice rink. The conditions in the winter months (July - September) are often favourable and there are huge snow making machines as a back up source. These conditions mean that off-piste skiing and heli-skiing are possible. The resort offers private lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers and there is also the opportunity for various other activities. The nearby frozen waterfalls are fun and different.
