Listed under Skiing in Piedmont-Northeast, Italy.
These runs and resort benefit greatly from their position under the face of the spectacular Monte Rosa and surrounded by more mountain peaks. The area is small and fairly quiet, though there are two separate ski fields, one for each centre so there is some variety of terrain, which is generally more suitable for the beginner to intermediate end of the market. In fact Macugnaga is an excellent place to consider bringing children to learn, or adults for that matter, as there is a very good ski school. The cafes and restaurants seems to be equally user friendly, the attitude being inexpensive, friendly and not too adventurous.
Runs above 2500metres mean that there is reliable skiing throughout the season. I recommend this as a very good choice for families.
