Austria is very welcoming for families both on and off the slopes. The accommodation is spacious and has a great ambiance and the resort staff are very friendly. There is a good variety of slopes and Mayrhofen is linked to all of the resorts moving up towards Hintertux. You can access many of the resorts via a train system towards Innsbruck.
