Austria is very welcoming for families both on and off the slopes. The accommodation is spacious and has a great ambiance and the resort staff are very friendly. There is a good variety of slopes and Mayrhofen is linked to all of the resorts moving up towards Hintertux. You can access many of the resorts via a train system towards Innsbruck.

Mayrhofen Background

The Mayrhofen resort features 146kms of slopes over two separate mountains which cater to all skiing abilities and now has a transport link connecting it to Lenersbach and Vorderlanersbach’s longer slopes which have increased the skiing area by 40%.

Mayrhofen gets consistent snowfall and has access to 18km of pistes on the Hinterlux glacier so there is year round skiing. It also features a transport lift that takes you to the highest skiing point in just five minutes. Mayrhofen is popular with both families and younger visitors. Its large town allows something for everyone and as well as excellent childminding facilities, there is a lively nightlife.

Mayrhofen is also home to several ski schools.
