Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort

Listed under Skiing in Koshin'etsu, Japan.

The Joetsu Kokusai resort in Japan is a fantastic ski getaway for all levels of ability. Although small, the expansive runs and enigmatic views make it one of the best skiing areas that Japan has to offer. The resort offers lessons to all age groups and abilities so everyone will find their place on the slopes. The resort is comfortably nestled in a picturesque valley and the top slopes offer striking views of the surrounding mountains, making the whole resort feel like the stage of a giant amphitheatre. It lies just an hour and a half outside Tokyo and is easily reached by the efficient bullet train, and recently held the Nippon Freeskiing Open competition.
