Five big powder bowls draw crowds of serious skiers and boarders but for resort bunnies there are resorts closer, and there is plenty of space around Fernie, around 2,500 acres, of terrain for those who crave these near perfect conditions. Each year up to nine metres worth of powder gathers on top of some of the steepest mountain terrain around, though considering the size of the place there is a run suitable for all levels. Snowboarders are looked after as well, with a halfpipe and terrain park as well as fantastic natural terrain options.
Take advantage of the option of a free guided tour, run to raise visitor awareness to the dangers of avalanches, and get out there and be the first one to make some tracks in the snow.
