With a variety of easy slopes to choose from, Austria's Ellmau is best for beginners and new intermediates. A generally pleasant and quiet area, Ellmau offers skiers a traditional village setting and no rowdy nightlife. The area is also known for other winter sports, such a tobogganing and snowboarding.

Though not an ideal place for advanced skiers, Ellmau is linked to other Ski Welt hot spots by Austria's fastest and most modern railway.
