For year round snowy fun, Iceland is probably the best destination. The resort of Blafjoll is the country's largest skiing area and it caters for all levels from complete beginners straight through to world-class competitors. The main slopes are lit up at night so it is possible to go for some night skiing. The resort offers 3, 5, and 10km cross-country trails and it’s well worth it to take in the surrounding natural beauty. The 5km trail is also available for night skiing. The area is truly awe-inspiring and it’s easy to see why Iceland is a land of fairytales and legends. As well as the main season (November to March) there is the opportunity to visit during the summer months and try skiing on the nearby glaciers. As well as skiing, the area has a multitude of other activities to offer including hiking, horse riding, snowmobiling, and even the possibility to go and watch the stunning aurora borealis. The capital Reykjavík is nearby – great for nightlife.
