A traditional market sets up every day in the square formed by Im Werd, Krummbaumgasse, Leopoldsgasse & Haidgasse. Full of color and diversity, you can buy fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads and pastries, cured meats, wine and grapes, jams, jellies and delectable Turkish food at Karmelitermarkt. The Turkish butchers can sell you what is said to be the best lamb in Vienna. Austrian butchers work right in front of your eyes, displaying their flavorful arrangements of fresh poultry, beef and horse meat. Karmelitermerkt becomes even more exciting on the weekends when vendors from all over Austrian set up their tables and sell delicious produce.
