Once home to famous, counterculture icons like the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and Jefferson Airplane, the Haight Ashbury area has been a notable area since the 1960s. Many would agree that it is still the epicenter of the hippie culture. Haight is filled with high-end vintage clothing and fun and funky accessories. Exclusive boutiques, like Verd's Funk, are totally cool and have their own styles and colorful flair. But its not just for the punky crew- Gap and McDonald's both have locations here. There are also tattoo and piercing shops available for the adventurous ones.

Walking down the street today offers almost as much fun as it did when the flower children roamed there decades ago. Haight Ashbury is still filled with a diverse group of people with vivid expressions of style and personality.
