If classic Louis Vuitton scarves and movie-star-like Dior sunglasses are what you crave, stroll through Avenue Montaigne's old mansions that are now home to ritzy couture venues such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Valentino and Guy LaRoche. These high-end, chic shops are the pulse of Parisian fashion and celebrities are often seen leisurely walking in and out of them. If you'd rather not drop your life savings on one Armani suit, you should still take a walk around Avenue Montaigne for the experience- the triple-wide sidewalks lend themselves perfectly to window-shopping! Fabulously unique boutiques are also popular on the street, where you are sure to find posh handbags and shoes that are just perfect for you.

Neatly tucked between the shops are delectable cafes and gourment restaurants that serve up delicious snacks and meals and satisfy any taste. If a 'lil bit of sweet is what you crave, try a legendary macaroon at Laduree.

This elegant tree-lined street is easily accessible on the Metro. Trains from Alma Marceau (Line 9), Franklin D. Roosevelt (Lines 1 and 9), George V (Line 1), RER A (Charles de Gaulle-Etoile) will all get you there. After you've finished at the Avenue Montaigne, head over to Avenue des Champs-Elysées, which is home to similar expensive, but undeniably gorgeous shops.

Fun to walk down, but you don't dare go in with your tourist fanny pack. Diamonds a la harry winston, you just get to look in the tiny windows. there was construction in front of Dior when i was there, so I only saw the sign. sigh. I went on a sunday morning after mass in the notre dame, it was pretty quiet. Saw George V hotel as well, it's right around there. Followed up this walk by looking for a bathroom in the Virgin Megastore on the champs elysees, not quite as magical. Toilette? Toilette?
