Total peace and quiet await at Tibbetts, and if you desire the company of no one but the occasional puffin, this old admiralty lookout building will doubtless be a self-catering dream come true – that is, if an electricity supply is not important to you. Situated half way down the East coast of Lundy Island, it squats unassumingly right on the cliff edge, maximising the stirring views of the ever-changing sea and sky. A tiny village and two lighthouses can also be found on the other side of the island, should the solitude become too much, but the diverse bird life, glass-clear waters, beautiful scenery and pitch-dark, starry night skies are all the inhabitants of Tibbetts have to contend with.
