Not the Bergen in Norway, this one's a bit lower down from the pole, a summer resort region of North Holland, built up over the 20th Century.

The lay of the flat, local land, mean that Bergen's sand dunes are epic affairs - providing fun and games for young and old alike.

In the past it's been popular with German tourists, but it's small town charms, and arty edge are making it more broadly popular.
