Most sailors dream of racing a professional standard racing yacht in competitive circumstances, but time, money and experience are pushed to the limit to make this a reality. The Solent-based charter and training company, Victory Yacht Charters, allows a regular or inexperienced sailor to do so with the Pindar team's experience and incredible racing yacht. Built for the 2001/2 Volvo Ocean Race, the famous round the world yacht race, the Pindar team can take up to 11 passengers in races on the Volvo 60. The Volvo 60 is unique, with only 19 of her type ever made, and sailing her is about as close to professional yacht racing as regular sailors will ever get, as she maintains her below deck basic racing layout and is capable of speeds of up to 30 knots. Catering for up to 11 passengers and the permanent crew, the Pindar team are very flexible and you can enter in races of your choice around the world such as the Fastnet, the Arc or Caribbean race weeks. Single days out on the Solent however also allow you to experience what it feels like to be part of a competitive racing team and sailing a vessel built for professionals.
