Bulgaria is one of the biggest producers of rose oil in the world - this is mainly due to Kazanlak and its Kazanlak rose. This town is often called the Valley of the Roses and it's easy to see why when you visit it’s brimming fields and gardens heavy with scent. Oil from the roses cultivated in this town are used in things such as perfumes and liqueur. A visit in early June will allow you to experience the colourful Festival of Roses.
