The Going-to-the-Sun Road is one of the most spectacular alpine drives in the world. Built as a civil engineering project during the Great Depression, the road crosses the continental divide at Logan Pass in Montana's stunning Glacier National Park. The road ascends steeply past lakes, waterfalls and wildflowers with fantastic views on both sides. In the middle of summer, travel is often slow due to the high popularity of this amazing drive, but going slow provides greater opportunities for spotting wildlife such as bear and moose which are commonly seen by the road. There are wonderful hiking trails here but be sure to carry "bearspray" (capsicum spray) as this area is notorious for bear attacks. The road is usually open from June through September only.

My companion is terrified of driving on narrow roads at high elevations. How can I best appease her fear when driving west to east on going to the sun road, National Glacier Park?
