Stretching 417 miles across the Yukon and into the Northwest Territories, Dempster Highway has the prestige of being the first consistently functional road in Canada to cross the Arctic Circle. The landscape is spectacular, to say the least, with a huge range of wildlife living in the hills and forests that surround the road. Because of its extreme northern location, Dempster will remain in the sunshine for days on end during certain parts of the Arctic summer.
