Listed under Road Trips in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Frequently referred to as America’s most scenic drive, the Cabot Trail winds and loops for 280kms along the coastline and through the uplands of Cape Breton National Park. Starting at Baddeck on Bras d’Or Lake the trail follows Highway 105 past the Margaree River, popular with fishermen looking for Salmon then changes to Route 19 and runs along the curving coastline of the Atlantic past beaches and fishing villages. The road then head upwards into the mountains allowing for some more spectacular views of the ocean, before meandering back down to the coast back amongst the sweeping bays and Arcadian fishing villages before finishing in the remote and pristine Cape Breton Highlands Park.
