Drive from Bourne to Orleans along the Cape Cod coast in Massachusetts through picturesque New England scenery. Although this short, 64 km, trip technically takes only a day to drive, make the right detour onto one of the deserted beaches or charming beach towns, and you just might never leave. The drive winds through villages of clapboard houses, old barns, colourful gardens and tiny churches. Stop in one of your favourites to picnic on the beach or enjoy a proper fresh seafood lunch in one of the local restaurants and then stroll through town for some wonderful antiquing, local beach crafts and speciality boutiques. Head to the beach to put your feet in, take a nap to the roar of the ocean or collect seashells, before getting back in the car for the drive home, with the sunset to guide your way.
