Tiber

The Tiber’s east bank was the site chosen to found Rome on in 753 BC, having been the river mythology says babies Romulous and Remus were thrown into before being rescued and suckled by wolves.
The Tiber played a large role in the history or the Roman empire being an important military thoroughfare. The Tiber begins near Mount Fumaiolo and meets the Tyrrhenian Sea at Ostia.
