If you are visiting New York, one of the top attractions has to be this thrilling speedboat ride. Leaving from Pier 83, The BEAST takes you on a 30 minute roller-coaster down the Hudson River, reaching speeds of 45 mph - going out to the Statue of Liberty, past Staten Island, and then back down the Hudson with spectacular views of the New York skyline.

But what is most fun about this ride is the crew, who make it especilally fun for kids. Sharp hairpin turns at speed are accompanied by hysterical screams, as those at the back of the boat (kids are encouraged to try it out) get soaked as huge impact waves crash onboard. They also do a good line in water guns, spraying the passengers at regular intervals - and they are not averse to using buckets. On a hot summer day this is actually quite refreshing.

So come prepared, keep your phone waterproofed, and get into the fun. Most of all, it's a great way to see the Statue of Liberty and the Big Apple skyline without having to set aside too much time.

Ride the Beast.

I have been on the BEAST twice, it is an amazing experience! Had such a fun time, one of my first dates with my husband was on the ride, it was great!

The Rhone starts its life on the Rhone Glacier in Switzerland and travels downhill quickly and with strong currents till it reaches Lake Geneva.
