Sydney’s newly re-opened Rockpool (fish) restaurant is a “Sydney dining institution and a renowned restaurant on the global stage (yourrestaurants.com)”. Driving up to the restaurant you come upon “two stories of ocean-green carpet, designer chairs, and stainless steel (nytimes.com)” that fades into George Street for a “sophisticated and relaxing environment (rockpoolsydney.com)”. The menu has changed from its original tasting menus and now offers an abundant a la carte menu with a huge raw selection. “The dishes are creatively done up, with a mix and match of combinations from all over the world (asiarooms.com).” Rockpool (fish) was named in Restaurant Magazine’s 2008 list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants for the seventh year. Although some say the “staff seemed to do lots of 'long walks' up and down the restaurant but did not always check to see if attention was required at the tables (foodtourist.com)”, others have said the servers are “extremely attentive, pleasant and highly trained (asiarooms.com)”.
