Sainte Anne is the largest island within the Ste Anne Marine National Park. Theses days the only accommodation on it is the Sainte Anne Resort, quite a large resort by Seychelles standards. The nicest beach, Grande Anse, runs right out of the resort's front door, before morphing into Royal Beach, then Turtle Beach, named for the sea turtles who lay their eggs here.
This is where the French settlers lived before moving to Mahe, which was originally infested with large crocodiles. It was more recently a whaling station, and then during WW2 a seaplane depot.
