Thousands of years ago a volcano erupted here creating a pristine lake that is still available for our enjoyment. Instead of fiery lava and rock, today’s Lake Toba boasts achingly blue waters surrounded by low-lying green mountains dotted with native Batik architecture and neat agricultural fields.
