Villa was a Mexican revolutionary and bandit who was assassinated in 1923. Three years after he was buried his head was stolen from his grave and one of his friends had his body moved to a different lot in the cemetery and replaced by that of a young woman. In 1972, the Mexican President ordered his body moved to Mexico City to be buried under a memorial to major revolutionary figures - however it is commonly thought that it is the body of the young woman that ended up under the memorial statue.
