Near Amsterdam’s famous museums, this large park is in a good spot for reflection… or for jogging, or a picnic, or walking your dog, or roller skating, or sketching, or sunbathing etc. It’s one of those parks where the landscaping in an improvement on nature, the small hills roll more greenly and the lakes and ponds are more perfectly shaped, plants sprout in the right places and in the shapes they’re supposed to.
In summer the park hosts a season of open air theatre and there’s plenty of free entertainment blasting out of the bandstands. If the weather turns on you, you can pop inside the onsite film museum and stay dry or take shelter in one of the bar, restaurants or cafes.
The park gets something like ten million visitors a year, so it must be a farily nice place to be - the photos certainly look inviting.
