Whale Watching in Plettenberg Bay

Listed under Wildlife in Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Known best as one of the few places to see the rare Southern Right Whale, Plettenberg Bay is where many whales come to calve. Southern Right Whales usually come in close to the shore here between August and November, but Bryde’s Whales, Killer Whales and dolphins live in the region all year round.

You can whale watch from several spots on land, however it’s better to go out to sea and there are several companies running whale watching tours.
