A showcase of Western heritage, the Panhandle-Plain Historical Museum is the largest history museum in Texas. PPHM aims to “collect, preserve, conserve, exhibit and interpret the historical, ethnological, cultural and scientific heritage of the Panhandle-Plains.” To do so, the museum houses Western life and agriculture artifacts, Native American art and artifacts, paleontology, geology, firearms, vehicles, decorative arts and furniture, sports artifacts and textiles. A central feature, the outdoor Pioneer Town has a model livery, saloon, schoolhouse, pioneer cabin and more.

The museum will keep guests of all ages happy as it is extremely interactive and engaging. Admission prices are reasonable, and tickets may be purchased on the museum’s website where visitors will also find a calendar of special events.
