Including the region of mangrove forests between the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers, Sundarbans National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the Royal Bengal Tiger. Other park fixtures include the Sajnakhali Sanctuary with its large bird population and the Bhagabatpur which is the world’s largest hatchery of estuarine crocodiles. The best time to visit the park is from September to May when the winter chill brings out the Royal Bengal Tigers to rest in the sunlight.
