This is a nature reserve of sand dunes, wetlands, traditionally farmed farmland and coastal scrub centred around a huge, mirror smooth wetland lagoon. Within its boundaries are Roman, and earlier, ruins and the habitats of more than 100 species of bird, including humming birds and cormorants.

Every Saturday in the visitor season the Menorcan Council runs small group guided tours of the park which last about an hour and a half and. The guides on these trips will help you spot the different birds.
