The Rondane National Park has ten mountain peaks higher than 2,000 metres and wild reindeer. Of course it offers the visitor much more than the spectacular view of the ridge of mountain peaks, with pine and birch surrounded lakes and reindeer grazed meadows in front of it, but photos of views like this are what draw most visitors to wander here.

Roe deer, elk, wolverines, bears and musk ox also wander through the park at times, some along the trails marked out for human hikers and campers to follow. If it's too cool to camp there are serviced cabins you can book places in.

Ibsen's play 'Peer Gynt' is set in Rondane, and it's been an inspiration for many Norwegian writers, poets and artists.
