The Parc National du Mont Mégantic is in Quebec, but don't confuse it with the city of Quebec, this park is definitely not in a city – in fact it's so far from the city that it's been named as one of the places in the world with the least light pollution, which means it's one of the best places in the world to go stargazing 'cause it's just you, the stars, and all those wonderful mountains in the style of the Appalachians.

The centre of the park is marked by Mont Mégantic on whose crown there's an observatory taking advantage of the wonderful conditions.

50kms worth of hiking trails run all over Mont Mégantic and its buddies surrounding it, which you can also mountain bike or snow shoe on, weather permitting, but you can drive up to the public observatory in the car if you like a view but you're not so au faire with the walk.
