This area, on both sides of the Loire River, is reserved to be enjoyed by people on a few different levels – because it's pretty and scenic, because it's historic and because it's culturally varied. That said the area has been run round and through with walking and cycling pathways leading visitors along different garden paths, from 2kms to 8kms in distance, learning about one facet of the park. There are signs up along the route to tell you about what you're looking at, and they're in French and English in case that was going to be your excuse. You can pick up free maps of the routes from the local tourist office.

There are 150kms worth of pathways to explore, or you can take to the river and explore the region by canoe or kayak along the river – sans informative signage though.
