Kasanka National Park may be small, but it has plenty to offer its visitors. From bird watching and angling to viewing the rock paintings and hoards of wildlife, this park gives visitors the chance to see things they won't likely find anywhere else. The swamp forests of Kasanka are home to the Sitatunga (antelope) and Shoebill Stork, two species that are rarely seen. But if you spend a few days exploring you will certainly see hippos, baboons, millions of fruit bats (if you stay until late afternoon), puku antelope, warthogs, blue monkeys, and maybe even a small herd of elephants. Leopards, honey badgers, and other carnivores also dwell in the forest, but it is more likely you will see jackals and mongooses roaming the park. Besides the wildlife, there are other attractions of the Kasanka National Park. The terrain of the park is covered with marshes, swamps, four rivers and eight lakes that flow into the Bengweulu Wetland, and lush vegetation You can also view rock paintings in the Nsala Caves which are thought to be 20,000 years old, see explorer David Livingstone's memorial, or travel north to the Kundalila Falls.
