Always warm, at about 15 C during winter, Iguazu National Park is home to more than 400 species of animals and some of the most breathtaking waterfalls. The park was formed in 1932 to preserve the dense, luscious rain forest that contains endangered species, such as the giant otter, the giant anteater, and around 2,000 types of plants. On the other side of the Iguazu river is the Brazilian side of the park, which is named Iguacu National Park.

As the river continues its way through Iguazu park, the rocks fragment the water into several channels, eventually forming spectacular waterfalls. These 200 thousand-year-old falls are so powerful that they create a permanent fog which causes sunbeams to form multiple rainbows of the most beautiful colours. Visitors to the park can take the Rainforest Ecological train and then wander the different walkways to see the dazzling falls in action.
