The Harper's Ferry National Historic Park spans over 4,000 acres and is in several different states including West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia.
The most notable part of the park is the town of Harper's Ferry that is known for the uprising of abolitionist John Brown.
The park is close to many attractions and large cities, thus making it an attractive destination for visitors. The park is located near where the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers meet. Some of the notable sights in Lower Tower include the information center, bookshop, A Place in Time Museum, Hamilton Street, Arsenal Square, John Brown's Fort, John Brown Museum, Ferry Museum, Harper House and many more.
The park is open daily from 8am to 5pm and only closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
