Mongolia’s largest national park, it encompasses three mountain ranges on the eastern edge and the Gobi desert in its southern region. Most of the terrain is sand dune covered desert or steppe, and this is one of the few refuges of the elusive snow leopard. The other major attractions are Yolyn Am, a plummeting glacial gorge and the impressive Bayanzag and Khongoryn Els sand dunes.
