Fort Verde Historic Park

Listed under National Parks in Arizona, United States.

During the last 30 years of the 19th century, the United States Army maintained Fort Verde in central Arizona. Today, Fort Verde is kept in operation by the state of Arizona to serve as an educational site for visitors.

A small museum and historic homes are available for tour and give visitors a peek into the lives of the soldiers who called the Fort home. Visit during Fort Verde Days, if possible, for the most interesting experience, as re-enactors will be performing on-site, and the park will be in top form. Even if you can’t make it for the festival, this park is worth a stop if you’re in the area.
