An area of astounding natural beauty, comprised of dense, lush forests, rushing waterfalls, secluded places to paddle, towering cliffs and inspiring history, Cape Gkreko National Forest Park is a fantastic place to go to for outdoor pursuits. Fishing, diving, kayaking, cycling and climbing can all be organised nearby and the ruins of Aphrodite’s temple can also be found here. However, the park is most celebrated for its biodiversity. You might meet foxes, bats, lizards or even the famous Cypriot moufflon – but you’re even more likely to come across over thirty species of rare orchid growing wild here, as well as crocuses and irises.
