It's big.  And it's line up includes some of the world's biggest band names.

Rock Werchter is one of the four largest European music festivals – the others being Sziget, Roskilde and Glastonbury – with about 80,000 people in the gates each day – 69,000 of them with tickets to the whole four days.  The bands are a mix of big name acts, crowd pleasers – sometimes old skool – and local bands, and each day tends to end with a big fireworks send off so that everyone knows it's time to go back to their tents.  Or at least in that general direction.

The International Live Music Conference has awarded Rock Werchter the award for Best festival in the World every year running since 2005.  In 2009 they changed the rules so it couldn't win again...
