End of the Road won Best New Festival in 2006.  And it's still going, proving that its organisers have staying power as well as vision.  Held in the Lamer Tree Gardens, Dorest, a rural idyllic setting, especially when the peacocks who live here are joined by strings of fairy lights – the idea is that here rock has magic.  Sounds merging onto the borders of country or blues are also heard coming from the tents or stages, but what the organisers say they're aiming for is an intimate festival for their favourite artists, who are invited to play longer sets than at most festivals.  What the organisers have ended up with a festival for people who really love music, rather than people who like their music mixed with a cocktail of party atmosphere.  Which the musicians respond well to.

The End of the Road caters for around 5,000 and is held over three stages and the Big Top in September.  Its also conveniently located for Stonehenge?
