Labor Day weekend is typically filled with end-of-summer celebrations in St. Louis, Missouri, and what better way to celebrate than by attending the region’s premier blues music festival on the banks of the Mississippi River?

Located in historic Laclede’s Landing, the Big Muddy Blues festival features a mixture of locally-known bands, as well as more well-known acts such as Magic Slim & the Teardrops, Booker T and the MGs, and Phat Noiz.

Vendors line the streets selling food, merchandise, and the beverage for which St. Louis is internationally recognized: beer.

This event draws people of all kinds and from all walks of life, but the blues are something that unites them all. Bring a lawn chair or sit on the lawn and enjoy the strains of a guitar under a starlit sky and the shadow of the Gateway Arch.
