The Islamic Ceramic Museum

Listed under Art Collections in Cairo, Egypt. Rated 117th of all Art Collections in the world.

Ceramic art has had, and continues to have, an important role in the history of Egyptian civilization. Because of this, it only makes sense that a museum was opened to display the intricate and storied pieces of Islamic ceramics from throughout the centuries. The museum is housed in the gorgeous palace of Price Ibrahim in Zamalek, which is a masterpiece worthy of display in its own right. On display are jugs, mugs, bowls, pitchers, and plates that represent all areas of the Islamic world from Morocco in the west to Iran in the east. The other pieces exemplify Egypt's different time periods. A walk through the Islamic Ceramic Museum is a great way to visually discover the changing art forms of the Middle East throughout the centuries.
