Antwerp was the birthplace of Rubens and has long been a haven for art appreciators and artists. It’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts is built like a temple - a place to worship beneath Corinthian columns and epic statues, the work of great artists from the 14th Century onwards. Understandably, Rubens and Antwerp’s other artistic sons Van Dijk and Jordaens have pride of place within the collection.
