The museum and art gallery of Naples is housed in a Bourbon palazzo, originally built to house the Farnese collection of art. Today, the collections represent European art from the 14th to the 18th centuries, though it is especially strong in Italian artists. Also of note are the porcelain collection, the armoury and various coin collections, glasses and tapestries; the palace staterooms are works of art in their own right.
