Listed under Art Collections in Athens, Greece.

This is one of the oldest collections of antiquities in Athens, home of many, many antiquities. It includes collections from Ancient Greece, the Roman period and the Byzantine, Frankish and Ottoman periods of occupation up to the period Greece has existed in it’s current form. The museum also houses a collection of important art from both Greek artists and artists inspired by Greece. The Benaki Collection was originally compiled by the Benaki family and the original building of the complex was the family home. It was opened to the public in 1931.
