Also known as the Giant Mountains, this range reaches along the Czech-Polish boarder, protected as a national park by both nations. Increasingly popular with skiers, this region is best known for its variety of vegetation responding to the varied environmental conditions, ranging from alpine to arctic to submontane: meadows to snow and ice.
